Hyaluronic acid is naturally made by your body and helps it with hydration.
In addition to our key ingredient, B-SILK™ PROTEIN, which is used in our Eighteen B products, we also include other amazing ingredients such as ceramides and hyaluronic acid. These are essential for maintaining healthy skin and further enhance the benefits of our silk skincare products. Below, we explain what ceramides and hyaluronic acid are and how they help you to have beautiful and radiant skin.
Hyaluronic Acid Benefits
Hyaluronic acid is naturally made by your body and helps it with hydration. Much of it is contained in the skin, which is the largest organ in the human body. One of the hyaluronic acid benefits is that it helps to increase skin elasticity.
Due to the normal aging of the skin, the naturally occurring levels of hyaluronic acid in the body diminish. Factors such as exposure to the sun, pollution, or smoking, can also reduce the amounts of hyaluronic acid.
Because of these influences, using a hyaluronic acid serum is essential for an effective moisturizing skincare routine. The result of adding hyaluronic acid for skincare is the reduced appearance of wrinkles and the emergence of firmer and smoother skin.
At Eighteen B, hyaluronic acid is used in our Firm + Replenish Serum, Hydrate + Restore Rich Cream, Revitalizing Hydrogel Moisturizer, and Defend + Nourish Eye Cream.

Ceramides in Skincare
Ceramides are another ingredient used by Eighteen B to enhance its silk skincare products. A ceramide is a lipids that are a natural part of your skin and help it to operate and to maintain its hydration. These lipids makeup about half of the skin’s outer layer and form a barrier to protect it and to keep in moisture. This is what makes ceramides perfect for skincare that is focused on skin barrier defense.
Due to the effects of aging, much of the natural ceramides in the skin diminish. This results in dryer skin and more pronounced lines on the face. To counteract these effects, it is beneficial to use moisturizing skincare that adds more ceramides to your skin.
Using ceramides in skincare routines is also helpful for those who have naturally dry skin. Environmental factors such as pollution can also cause the skin to become dry, which makes a ceramide skin hydrator a good option for helping to restore the natural hydration balance in your skin.
But regardless of what skin type you have, such as normal, dry, combination, oily, sensitive, or acne-prone, a ceramides cream or serum can help to keep your skin healthy since ceramides are naturally found in all skin types.
At Eighteen B, we use three types of ceramides in our ceramides cream and in our serum. These ingredients include: Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Ceramide NP.
Looking for a ceramide-based skin hydrator? We offer a couple of products that contain ceramides for the skin. These include our Firm + Replenish Serum and our Hydrate + Restore Rich Cream.
